Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Lookup. Your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy explains what information Lookup handles and how that information is used.

Overview

Lookup is designed as a local-first personal reference app. The information you create in the app is stored on your device. We do not operate a user account system for Lookup, and we do not run our own analytics, advertising, or tracking systems inside the app.

Information You Add to the App

Lookup lets you store information such as document details, vehicle information, finance references, contact details, notes, and other personal reference data that you choose to enter.

This information is stored locally on your device using Apple system frameworks. We do not receive, collect, or store that content on our servers.

Sensitive Fields

Lookup includes a sensitive-field option for individual values. When a field is marked sensitive, the app is designed to hide or mask that value in relevant UI and exclude it from Spotlight indexing.

Spotlight Search

If Spotlight support is enabled in the app, Lookup may index non-sensitive entry data using Apple’s on-device Spotlight framework so that you can find items faster through system search. Sensitive fields are excluded from this indexing.

Spotlight indexing happens on-device. We do not receive your indexed content.

Widgets and App Group Storage

Lookup offers Home Screen widget support. To power widgets, the app may write a limited local snapshot of relevant app data to Apple’s shared app group container on your device so the widget extension can read it.

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Import and Export

Lookup supports local import and export features such as JSON and CSV backups. When you use these features, files are created, opened, or shared through Apple-provided system interfaces and locations that you control.

You are responsible for how you store or share exported files outside the app.

Attachments

If you use attachment features, Lookup may store image or PDF attachments locally on your device as part of your entry data. These attachments are not uploaded to our servers.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Lookup may offer optional in-app purchases, including subscriptions and/or a lifetime purchase, to unlock Pro features. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s in-app purchase system.

We do not receive your full payment information. We may rely on Apple-provided purchase status information made available through StoreKit so the app can determine whether Pro features are unlocked on your device.

Data Collection

We do not collect personal data from Lookup users through our own servers as part of normal app usage.

Third-Party Services

Lookup does not use third-party libraries or third-party advertising/analytics services for app functionality described in this policy.

The app does use Apple platform services and frameworks such as StoreKit, WidgetKit, Spotlight, and document/file handling features provided by iOS.

Children’s Privacy

Lookup is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Data Security

Because Lookup stores data locally on your device, your device security settings and your handling of backups or exported files are important. Keep your device protected and be careful when sharing exported data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
